Parts Reliability If autonomous vehicle fails in field, it may be difficult or impossible to recover. Microprocessor, Power Regulator and Optical Isolators Analyzed for reliability Reliability Failure between 1 and 2 failures per 10^6 hours

FMECA Concerns Personal injury or property damage may result from autonomous vehicle failing to stop for obstacles or motor outputs stuck ‘on’ Motor outputs require PWM signal to move, thus only software can result in motor outputs not turning off Failure of ultrasonic sensor can lead to collisions
