Red cross The first Red Cross was born in Bolivia with the Pacific War Was influenced by wars His favorite pastimes are helping people wing and offer their services most needy, thanks to its volunteers.

Red cross in the creation of the Red Cross never doubted his decision, and Spanish representation in 1863 was among the fourteen nations that attended the First International Conference

Histori of Red cross As a first time true to its origins, its activities focused on humanitarian interventions in case of armed conflict  In 1872 acted directly on First Carlist War III.In its constant adaptation to the needs in the wake of armed conflicts in Africa in 1918, the extensive expansion of its health centers, coming to add about 36 hospitals. In a scenario of widespread deficiencies in health, the network of Red Cross had a special meaning.

In the seventies, the Institution completed the network of first aid posts on Spanish roads, which had begun its first expansion in the Republican period. It was a new step in response to road communications to an increase of the vehicles and, consequently, an increase of traffic accidents that require a quick response.

Also started relief work at sea and in inland waters and the rescue of shipwrecked sailors, who through the Red Cross Sea became one of the best known and valued services to the public. In the seventies and especially in the eighties, the Spanish Red Cross will provide a significant leap, grow their business and quantitatively new shares and services give new meaning to it. Since 1985 began a major reorganization to the democratization of the institution, enhancing the participation of volunteers, openness to new fields of action, etc..
