How Does NC History Affect Me? By: Mr. Hunter

How do you think the history of NC affects you?

How does NC History affect you? It is a class I have to take where I have to memorize a lot of dates and then forget them. It is forced upon me by older persons who wish to relive their pasts.

History = The Past The distinction between the past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion. – Albert Einstein The past is prophetic in that it asserts loudly that wars are poor chisels for carving out peaceful tomorrows. –Martin Luther King, Jr.

MOMMY… Where did I come from?

This is more than a question of Biology. 1. Remember yesterday. You have a story, and you come from many years and many miles away. All of you have ancestors who lived through the events we discuss.

You are what you are because of who came before you! The Past You are what you are because of who came before you! Ex.) Slavery (African Americans; Europeansspirited away and sold into bondage)

2. Live for today. You are living through history, and what is happening causes you to make opinions and decisions.

3. Dream for tomorrow. The journey through your future will seem easier when you see and understand your past.
