Welcome to Study Skills 7th Grade with Ms. DuBois 

Key Elements of Skills Learned Organization  Identification of a growth mindset How  to manage  your academic, behavioral and emotional state. How to effectively take notes Become and engaged and active reader How to advocate for yourself. Assistance with strategies to memorize.

Essential Questions That will be Covered: What is a growth mindset? How does one foster their personal growth mindset? How does an individual’s emotions effect their learning? What Condition does a student learn best it? Which note taking strategies are effective for a variety of assessments? How can graphic organizers enhance note taking and study guides? How does one identify the main idea and notes worth writing down? How does one extract information from multiple modalities? How does one approach open ended responses?

Essential Questions That will be Covered: How can students utilize the inclusion teacher to benefit their own learning? What are some effective communication strategies from student to teacher? How does self-reflection enhance understanding of content and individual learning? How does self-reflection enhance understanding of content and individual learning? How does self-reflection on academic and behavioral performance enhance understanding on content and classroom expectations? What are some effective communication strategies between peer to peer?

Some skills we will learn about are: -how to open a locker -how to take effective notes -understanding yourself as a learner and the best conditions you learn in.  -how to talk to teachers when you need help.  -how to study for tests. Some skills we will learn about are:
