When you enter class… Pick up two handouts. Begin filling out the Independent Reading one.

Warm-up Identify the flaw in each sentence. Also, identify part of speech for the underlined words. When a person brings a glove to the game, they look a little goofy, but they have a better chance of catching a ball. I hope the team brings their bats today! The typical college student has difficulty adjusting to academic standards much higher than those of their school.

Key Questions Context: Why did the authors write these books? Interpretation: What do their works communicate to readers? Connection: Why do we still read them today?
