Computers electronically store files, which saves time, labor, and space. Accounting software helps organize, plan, and control business operations. Film industry uses digital technology to edit film & enhance images.
The Impact of Telephones Before the telephone, people had to communicate face to face or in writing, which could take several days. The telephone makes it possible for people to communicate hundred of miles away. Telephone companies sprang-up. Manufacturers began producing phones & supplies. Later, more efficient phones were produced. Ex: cordless phones, cell phones, radio telephones. Aside from talking, you can send and receive emails and text messages, take photographs and view videos.
Modern Technology Some economies like Japan & Taiwan are based on manufacturing electronics. There is a constant demand for smaller, faster, cheaper, and more powerful electronics. The computer was 1st used by the military, now it is a requirement for all types of business.

Employment New markets have opened for products such as printers, fax machines, video games and cell phones. They are constantly being invented, developed and manufactured. Innovation-more jobs and people learning new skills.
