ED-315 Project Multiplication

Context Dover Elementary – 4th grade 19 students +1 Languages 10 boys/10 girls Languages Socioeconomics – low to middle Race/ethnicity : Hispanic, African American, White School Culture Range of Abilities Overall 1st – 5th

Lesson 1 Students will be able to find factors and multiples of numbers. Students will be able to identify square numbers. Students will be able to solve multiplication facts. Students will be able to identify and use patterns in the Multiplication/Division Facts Table. Students will be able to develop a deeper understanding of ways to solve multiplication problems. Content Terms Multiplication Table

Lesson 2 Students will be able to have a deeper understanding of multiplication that goes beyond knowing just the multiplication facts. Students will be able to apply multiplication to word problems. Worked on Word Problems

Lesson 3 Students will use a picture to help them think about multiplication word problems as repeated addition word problems. Students will be able to apply repeated addition knowledge to create multiplication representations. More word problems Focused on picture representing problem Student examples
