Question Describe how the Blitzkrieg (lightning war) was carried out. First, Germany would send in their air force to bomb and inflict as much damage as possible. Secondly, they would follow that up with a land invasion to destroy the remaining people and buildings.

Question How did the Allied bombing strategy change from the beginning of WWII to the end? In the beginning of the war, we were attempting to avoid civilian targets because we considered it “uncivilized” to kill civilians in war. By the end of the war, we were reverting to the very strategies we had previously described as being uncivilized by purposely hitting civilian targets.

What was FDR’s “infamy speech?” Question What was FDR’s “infamy speech?” He gave it after the U.S. was bombed at Pearl Harbor to describe how the invasion on our own soil would never be forgotten.
