contagious Adjective Capable of being spread from one person to another. Her laughter was contagious, and soon everyone was laughing.

contiguous Adjective Touching France and Spain are contiguous countries.

retain Verb To keep possession of; to continue to have; to remember After Father’s death, Mother retained ownership of the family business.

sustain Verb To maintain or keep going; To supply with necessities How long can you sustain your current schedule without getting really burned out?

tact Noun The ability to say or do things without offending others Tact is an important attribute for a politician who is usually trying to please voters.

tactile Adjective Relating to or having the sense of touch Young children need a lot of tactile experiences to learn about their world.

tangent Adjective Touching, in contact The dog balanced on a board that was tangent to a large ball.

tangible Adjective Something that can be touched or grasped The diploma was a tangible reward for all her hard work.

tenacious Adjective Holding fast Persistent, stubborn The octopus had a tenacious hold on the crab.

tenant Noun A person who rents property from another person and lives in the property The tenant never paid his rent on time, which angered the landlord.
