This award honors Benjamin Y. H This award honors Benjamin Y. H. Liu for his leadership in the aerosol community and his own seminal contributions to aerosol science through instrumentation and experimental research. The Benjamin Y. H. Liu Award “recognizes outstanding contributions to aerosol instrumentation and experimental techniques that have significantly advanced the science and technology of aerosols”.

2008 Recipients of the Benjamin Y. H. Liu Award Murray V. Johnston, Ph.D. University of Delaware Daniel M. Murphy, Ph.D. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Drs. Murphy and Johnston revolutionized aerosol chemistry with a 1991 publication (Analytical Chem. 63, 2069-2073) describing a successful coupling of laser ablation of airborne particles with high resolution mass spectrometry.
