Fig. 2 The experimental device. The light source was located 40cm away from the reference dentulous model, and the angle of incidence was set to 40°. The scanner wand is fixed and the scanning area is illuminated from two directions. Thus, the value of illuminance on the scanner wand remains at a constant value. To fix the scanner wand in a horizontal position on the dental arch, the anterior teeth of the reference model are removed.
