Talk About It What was the role of informational text in HS ELA pre-CCSS? What is the role now? What is the role of literature in HS ELA pre-CCSS? What is the role now?

Talk About It Where are your students’ abilities now, and what do they have to work on most? How do you build students’ knowledge if there are gaps? How do you ensure that students still have the opportunity to analyze and form claims about grade-level complex text if there are reading skill deficits? How do you ensure that students still have the opportunity to develop analysis and argumentation in writing if there are skill gaps there? How do you grow students' vocabulary if there are gaps?
