Industry data: Raw materials 2016 Soya meal – 135,250 tonnes (up 31.0% on 2015) Palm kernel – 1, 526,967 tonnes (down 31.2% on 2015) Maize – 141,441 tonnes (down 28.6% on 2015)
Industry data: Species consumption 2016 In 2016 NZFMA members produced 1,045,071 tonnes of compound feed – an increase of 2.5% on 2015 The top species in 2016 - poultry meat, layer hens, pig, diary, calf
Industry data: Species consumption 2016 The 5 top species in 2016 consumed 995,836 tonnes or 97% of feed produced – 47.3% of this consumed by poultry meat birds In 2016, compared to 2015, poultry meat was up 1.9%; layers up 5.0%; pig was up 7.3%; calf up 4.1% and dairy up 11.5%
