Research Pairs for (Mini) Annotated Bibliography Basis for Essay 2 Mini Ann. Bib. = Group Grade Essay 2 = Individual Work / Individual Grade Exchange contact information, etc. *at the end of / after* class. Larger Annotated Bibliography in ENGL 1302 (Composition II)

Mini Annotated Bibliography (2 sources) Mini Ann. Bib. due day of reading – paper copy “Draft Day” for Readings – 9/26 No more than two pairs can have the same textbook reading per period. Only 2 sources 1 HCC's library database  1 from another source (can be database) Article + ann. bib. = Basis for Essay 2  Close to essay deadline? You may submit ann. bib. early.

Mini Ann. Bib. (continued) Annotated Bibliography – timing Entries up to 10 mins. late = Starting with B for that entry. Parts of entries after 10 mins. = Zero points for those parts. Ex: You came to class, left to print original source, returned after bell. Full credit for written portion. Late grade or zero points for the original source, but you can still get credit for it. Put your own name on the entry you wrote for the pair. If you know you’re going to be absent, give your work to your partner. No electronic copies! – NMP Take care of your printing needs. I’m not dealing with hunting down / opening e-copies.

Mini Ann. Bib. Scoring Points – 14 pts. per entry 3 pts – Copy of original source. 3pts – MLA citation at top of entry. (-1pt if it’s anywhere else) 3 pts – Paragraph 1 Type of entry (ex: Op-ed, essay, survey / study) Intended audience (remember the publication source) Summary of article. This shouldn’t be more than 5 good sentences. 5 pts – Paragraph 2 What did you already know? What is something new? Bias? Explain. Tone? Tell us how you anticipate using this information. General supporting evidence? Possible thesis point? Statistic for introduction?

“Mini Annotated Bibliography” Folder Samples Read notes for each file *before* you review the files. If I find old ones from last year, I will upload those for samples.
