Thoughts on Parshat Acharei Mot אַחֲרֵי מוֹת Means after the death of the two sons of Aaron the High Priest

Background Leviticus 16 The two goats. One for the Lord (L’-Yahweh) A scapegoat (L’-Azazel) These two goats are one picture, the first is an Atonement, the second for the Removal of sins.

Different names: Yom Kippur Day of Atonements יוֹם הַכִּפֻּרִים, Yom HaKippurim Leviticus 23:27 - 28; 25:9. A Sabbath of solemn rest שַׁבַּת שַׁבָּתוֹן, Shabbat Shabbaton, Leviticus 23:32 A holy convocation מִקְרָא-קֹדֶשׁ, Miqra Qodesh (mikra kodesh), Leviticus 23:27

Acharei Mot Foreshadowing the Death of Yeshua Concerning the death of Yeshua in relation to the two goats: It was a propitiation (1 John 2:2). It was a substitution (2 Corinthians 5:21). It is His blood that cleanses the believer from sin (1 John 1:3-9)
