GROWTH MANAGEMENT What is a Comprehensive Plan? To guide the growth of a community over a 10 to 20 year period Contains 8 elements that should be consistent and coordinated –Transportation –Land Use –Water, Sanitary Sewer, Drainage –Capital Improvement –Parks and Recreation –Conservation –Recreation, Open Space –Housing/Intergovernmental Coordination

GROWTH MANAGEMENT What is a Comprehensive Plan? Land Development Regulations should be developed to implement the Comprehensive Plan Comprehensive Plan is adopted by ordinance and amended by ordinance Amendments can only be done twice per year (Excluding the Capital Improvements Element) Comprehensive Plan (Broad) Land Development Regulations (Specific)
