Random Acts of Kindness What happened in the video? Is it important to be kind? At home? At school? In the community? What are some examples of random acts of kindness?

RAK A Random Act of Kindness is a selfless act performed by kind people to either help or cheer up an individual or individuals, for no reason other than to make people happier.

Does it have to be a big act of kindness?

Types of Acts of Kindness Gifts (baking a treat for someone you care about) Act of Service (helping your mom load the dishwasher) Quality time (spending time with your sibling playing a game he/she likes) Affirmation (compliments, give thanks, smile) Physical touch (Hugs, high five, pat on the back)

Pair-Share What are some random acts of kindness YOU could do? Who would you give your RAK to? What kind of RAK would you like to receive?

Compliments Web Activity We will be using QUALITY COMPLIMENTS (meaningful and specific). Each student, upon receiving the ball of string and a compliment, will thank the person, then wrap the string around a finger so you don’t drop it, and send it on to someone else with a compliment. Students must use self-control, meaning you are not allowed to pull, shake, or drop your string.

School Wide Kindness Initiative Ambassadors of Peace have initiated a school wide kindness event called the “Kindness Chain” When a teacher sees you being kind they will give you a chain link (piece of paper). You will write your name on the paper and the teacher will add it to the classroom kindness chain. It will be exciting to watch kindness grow in the classroom!

Rules: Acts of kindness must be selfless acts intended to either help or cheer up another person, for no reason other than to make people happier. You cannot nominate yourself for a chain link. You CAN nominate a friend by telling your teacher about their act of kindness (ONLY AT AN ACCEPTABLE TIME). The Kindness initiative will go from Nov. 6th -Dec. 12th

We need your help to spread kindness… So will you do it?
