Skewness: The distribution of data may or may not be symmetrical Skewness: The distribution of data may or may not be symmetrical. A distribution where the right half is the mirror image of the left half is said to be symmetrical If the distribution is not symmetrical it is said to be asymmetrical or skewed. Left Skewed : Negatively Skewed Right Skewed: Positively Skewed

Kurtosis Kurtosis measures the amount of peaked-ness of a distribution. A flatter distribution than the normal distribution is called platy-kurtic. A more peaked distribution than normal distribution is called leptokurtic. the distribution which is normal in shape –meso-kurtic distribution
