Walking in their shoes… Mayans Walking in their shoes…

Travel back in time with me…

To the land of the Mayans…

Full of deep forests…

And steep volcanoes.

Where the animals and critters roam…

You have been summoned to the local city to sell your beautiful weavings.

As you hike through the forest along the road, you pass the main water canal…

Soon you pass older pyramids covered in vines

Through the trees you see the back of Tikal…

It was huge!

Pyramid of the Jaguar

Temple of the Mask

Stella

You take in a game at the ball court.

And duck into a shady area to cool off.

Then, up ahead is the largest temple of all, reaching 230 ft tall…

You climb up to the top to pay your respects to the ruler.

From the top you can look out over the entire Mayan city of Tikal

Temple of the Two-Headed Serpent http://www.airpano.ru/files/Tikal-Guatemala/2-2

At the top, the priest presents the ruler with the sacred cup of chocolate!

Before heading home, you sample some of your own chocolate!
