Welcome to Extended Opportunity Programs and Services

History about our program The Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) Established by the Legislature in 1969 through SB 164 Created to enable students affected by language, social, and economic handicaps to achieve their educational objective and goals including: Improved job skills occupational certificates associate degrees transfer to four-year institutions.

Eligibility for EOPS? Financially: Qualify for a BOG-W (fee waiver) type A or B Educationally: Have not earned HS diploma nor the equivalent GPA from HS is below 2.5 Assessment results place you into foundational Math & English (English 500-450 or Math 504-410) Completed foundational course series in English or Math from another college Completed remedial course work or English as a Second Language classes in high school and/or college. Should not have or have not exceeded 48 degree applicable units

EOPS Student Responsibilities Enroll in Guidance 2 as advised by the EOPS counselor Must be a full-time student (12 units each semester) Select classes from the Educational Plan developed with EOPS counselor Complete 3 mandatory contacts with the EOPS counselor each semester (Start Term, Mid Term, and End Term) Obtain the EOPS counselor approval before adding or dropping classes Make satisfactory academic progress
