The Associate Educational Fellowship Fellowship Planning Meeting

Issues for tonight A special focus for the year? Fellowship news Discussions Objectives ‘Leaderless’? or ‘Steered’? Research or Enquiry? A Lead Practitioner Role? AEFP Forum?

1. Objectives? For continuity do we stick with these for another Year or do we review them annually? If the latter, when should we do it?

2. ‘Leaderless’ or ‘Steered’? Do we need a steering group? Given time restraints could this be Fellows who are already on the BBLE Development Group or should we have an email group?

3. Research or Enquiry? (or what is the Fellowship for?) Given that we are all involved in school improvement, should our focus be on engaging in primary research or developing expertise in accessing and evaluating existing research studies as part of school improvement?

4. Lead Practitioner in Research and Enquiry? Is a major aim for the first full year to flesh-out this role so that Fellows have a potential rationale for their sponsorship by base organisations or is this not a priority for us?

5. ‘AEFP Forum’? Do we need to create a workspace for people to share more disciplined reflections on their practice and thinking or is a ‘blog’ enough?

6. What is the Fellowship for? From our experience of the first year, is the role of the Fellow to bring an expertise in accessing and evaluating evidence as part of the school improvement process
