Music Ed Matters Campaign

Give a Note Foundation Give a Note was created in 2011 by the leaders of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Their mission is to nurture, grow, and strengthen music education opportunities for every student, every school, and every community.

Give a Note Foundation The foundation was established to ensure that all children have access to the life-changing benefits of music study.   Music helps students develop important skills tied to life-long success – collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication.

The Problem Many underserved schools around the country do not receive the support they need to sustain their music programs. Many are cut from the budget. Give a Note shines a spotlight on areas of need, the value of music education in the lives of all students, and the great work of the music teachers who reach those students.

Why am I fundraising for Give a Note?

Why am I here? November is National Philanthropy Month! The Give a Note Foundation launched the #MusicEdMatters initiative to increase awareness and donations for the foundation during the giving season. Our chapter made a commit to raise $___ by the start of the new year.

The Ask I am asking local businesses to join the cause! How? By offering a [meal special] (We suggest $10) every weekend during November as local musicians play. Proceeds go to Give a Note Foundation.

The Numbers Lets say 100 people visit your business per day. If 50% of those people take advantage of the special ($10), we can bring in $1000 each weekend. $10 x 50 = $500 $500 x 2 = $1000 (Saturday and Sunday) $1000 x 4 = $4000 (One month)

What do I need from you? The answer yes! I will provide a script for the musician to announce the meal special and give some background on Give a Note. I will provide balloons, a one sheeter on the campaign, and social media promotion. We ask that you advertise on your social media. I will provide the language – you are free to adjust.

Why say yes? The Give a Note Foundation and I will advertise your participation on all of our social media channels. The money you raise on behalf of Give a Note is tax deductible. You will be supporting a cause for real change in the lives of students.

Thank you for your time!
