Welcome and presenter introduction THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE SOME INFORMATION ABOUT OUR RECENTLY ANNOUNCED “Penny Swap” and Bond Elections. ELECTION DAY IS NOVEMBER 7. WE’LL BE SHARING A GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE 2017 BOND, WHICH WE ARE CALLING “Commitment to Graduating Our Students College and Career Ready”

WHAT’S ON THE BALLOT Proposition A “Penny Swap” tax rate authorization Proposition B $750 million bond proposal The two items on the ballot will be the TRE “Penny Swap” and the bond proposition. Both items must pass in order for the District to complete all projected work.

Prop A PENNY SWAP How It Works Life cycle costs of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Technology to expand 1:1 program where middle school students will receive Chromebooks, and a 2:1 program in our elementary schools. New furniture and equipment. New buses. New athletic and fine arts equipment and uniforms. Update safety and security systems: additional cameras, access control, card readers, monitors.

Citizens’ oversight Committee Committee of individuals from existing community and professional organizations appointed by the Board Review and evaluation of program status and bond fund expenditures Regular reports to the Board of Education and Superintendent. Reports will be posted for the public via the District website. Conduct meetings open to the public according to the Texas Open Meetings Act We will be out in the community sharing information up to the election. Please attend any meetings you hear of, share our information with your friends on social media, and ask us questions.
