Piloting finished June 2012 Evaluation completed Lessons learned compiled Resources collated and shared What’s left is to consider…

NOW WHAT? Is there a way to continue on this journey together Can we keep going and help each other to sustain activity? What would that help look like?

But before we go forward…let’s go back Isabel set out to: “Use ICT innovation practices such as citizen journalism for empowerment of the groups and of communitieis at social and territorial level, strengthening inter-personal and intracultural links, getting communities talking to one another, promoting personal/collective growth, empowering people to ensure their voices are heard.”

Strengthen intracultural links Ensure their voices are heard Seeds of sustainability are in the original vision: Empowerment of Groups Strengthen intracultural links Ensure their voices are heard

So we’re looking for a model that can support us to: Raise the profile of commuinty voices... People telling stories from the heart of communities ...to encourage dialogue cross border... Celebrates the universality of themes that shape our lives ...for powerful shared learning. To generate real solutions from real people across borders Telling stories from the heart of communities Celebrates the universality of themes that shape our lives To generate real solutions from real people across borders

Which gives us: A powerfully innovative approach that up-ends the theory of ‘disadvantaged’ populations and supports people to release their own potential and power POWER

And this isn’t just theory The ISABEL pilots have already demonstrated that there are commonalities of themes that have emerged that could ealsily lead to shared learning Eg themes of identity...belonging...cultural story-telling

of Community Reporters So, NOW WHAT? The European Network of Community Reporters A European-wide network of people and organisations organisations involved in Commuity Reporter activity based on the principle of developing local voices and distributing local views cross-border for shared learning

Roles will include: Find ways to support activity to happen on the ground Distribute stories from communites in order that people can learn from each other, support each other and better understand each other Develop dialogue and discussion between communities and agencies in order to ensure that communities have a voice across Europe Promote and share knowledge about Community Reporting, its content and good practices Support the aggregation of content to influence policy

It’s already happening!
