Questions? Anything Interesting?

Skill Focus: Class Culture plus Tell Stories Chapter: Credibility Skill Focus: Class Culture plus Tell Stories

Class Culture How can we collectively work to achieve a high performance, leadership culture in this class? How would we know if we achieved it?

Our Culture We will:

Insights from Chapter 2 Honest, Forward-looking, Inspiring, Competent Credibility (Trust) DWYSYWD Ticket Master Brett Kavanaugh Becky Scott

Storytelling Have you heard a good story about Lollipops lately? As we watch and listen, find three insights on how to tell a story.

Story Telling Secrets Find a Story Tell it Re-tell it

Story Telling Secrets Find a Story Break down the story into an outline of events Write out the story in your own words (or draw it if you prefer as a storyboard) Tell your self the story by looking at your notes (repeat, repeat, repeat) Think about the story – are there parts that really do not need to be there – cross them off Tell a friend (no notes or storyboard) As you get more confident – add emotions to the tale including your own ….THEN TELL YOUR STORY

Plastics Tell a story to convince your colleagues that this one person (who is not in this room) should get the last seat on a space ship leaving doomed and dying earth!

Get that last seat!

Next Day Read and come prepared to discuss: Chapter 3 HEADS UP (for following Tuesday): ‘Tipping Point Leadership’ by Kim and Mauborgne, HBR, 2003 As you read the paper – think about a problem that you are aware of and how this might help solve this challenge.
