Presentation transcript:

Quick Write #2– “I Have a dream” speech or JFK Speech Choose a meaningful quote or section from one of the assigned texts. Discuss the quote or section you have chosen. Write in 3rd person. Be creative in your thoughts and style. Try anaphora, allusion, or chiasmus, perhaps. Make it clear that you understand the quote in its context. From there, your focus becomes your own. What do you see in the quote? Your focus can be specific to MLK or JFK’s purpose, showing how the style of the quote or section contributes to the meaning and purpose of the entire speech. You can move to your own ideas of the significance of the quote as it applies to the world in which you live.
