Emergency Communications Contributions from ATIS, ETSI, TIA Highlights The GSC Task Force on Emergency Communications was established at GSC-16. All GSC SDOs participated and contributed to the Task Force coordinated by ETSI. An overview of the output report was presented during the GSC-17 Task Force Reports in agenda item 8.1. Other areas highlighted included SMS text to 9-1-1 standards, Next Generation 9-1-1 System (NG911), Project 25, Multimedia Emergency Services, Commercial Mobile Alert Service (CMAS), Satellite Emergency Communications, TETRA, Digital Mobile Radio, Global Maritime Safety Systems, and more Regional regulatory requirements and mandates in coordination with global directions.
