Guiding Question 9/14/16 How did European nations have an impact on the Americas?

Americas Slave labor was used to harvest cash crops on plantations. Colonies were owned by the mother country that controlled them. Slave labor was used to harvest cash crops on plantations. Spain used Native Americans as slaves before importing Africans.

Indentured Servants Were also used as labor in the Americas. Indentured servants worked to pay off debts or cover the cost of travel to the Americas. Redemptioners worked out their terms after arriving in the Americas. Some indentured servants were convicts sent to the colonies as punishment for their crimes.

What was the French and Indian War? Britain vs. France (supported by Native Americans). Britain wanted France’s fur trade. Britain won war and took much of France’s land. France lost much land and influence in the North America and New World.
