Neighborhood Communications What is Nextdoor? Nextdoor (ND) is a free private social network for YOUR neighborhood. Video 01:38 Here are ten reasons ND is uniquely different from Facebook, Yahoo and Google Groups.

Neighborhood Communications How popular is Nextdoor in the U.S.? ND was started in 2011 in SF. Currently, 49,000 neighborhoods have joined ND. Approx. 1000 new neighborhoods are added each month In the next few years, all 150,000 neighborhoods in U.S. will have joined ND. (Source)

Neighborhood Communications Dealing with a crisis Bob Hamlin (Director of the Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management) has said: "The ability to deal with a crisis is largely dependent on the structures and relationships that have been developed before the emergency."

Neighborhood Communications Dealing with a crisis Communication is a critical component in those structures and relationships. Nextdoor’s City Agency Partnership program would give agencies - like the Sheriff and the Department of Emergency Management - the ability to communicate with one, several or all Nextdoor neighborhoods in Jefferson County.
