Presentation transcript:

Before the bell… Please put your phones in the pocket folder. If you’re caught with a phone, you will lose points for today. Be ready to read when the bell rings. If you forgot a book, get one from the shelf and be in your seat by the time the bell rings. Have your sheets from last class out for me to collect. If you don’t have it, it’s due next class and it’s another 10 points off.

Project Rules & Expectations 7 Blog Entries- Ms. Rolfe will give you the details for each entry. We will do one per week. They count as a classwork grade. You will write a literary analysis essay. This will count as a test grade. Your other test grade this six weeks will be a research paper based on your book. Your overall essay grade will be an overall grade for your website. Supplemental Component: Choose one of the following to complete. This will be your original work. Book Review (at least 1 page that includes a book synopsis as well as a critique) Diary Entry from a character’s perspective (at least 1 page) Comic or Storyboard (at least 5 frames—print or digital) Poem or Song (at least 10 lines) Artwork (painting, sculpture, photo collage, etc.) Also, you will be getting a participation quiz grade for coming to class prepared with your book, reading silently for the allotted time and working on your blog entries. Each class day is worth 8 points. If you’re unprepared or you are off task, I deduct 8 points from your grade.

Today’s Agenda Silent Reading for 45 minutes Mentor Blog Activity Finish 1st blog entry and turn in the google classrooms.

Silent Reading – 45 Minutes Please read silently. You will be getting a participation quiz grade for coming to class prepared with your book, reading silently for the allotted time and working on your blog entries. Each class day is worth 8 points. If you are not reading, cause disruptions, sleep or are in any way off task, you will lose points. Also, I am keeping track in a spreadsheet and, most likely, I won’t even bother to confront you so that the rest of the class is not bothered. You will just lose the points and I will document why with the time and date.
