GOLDFISH LAB

Materials Cup Goldfish Paper Towel = Pond Colored Pencils Yellow=Cheddar Orange = Pizza Paper Towel = Pond Colored Pencils

PROCEDURE Place your fish on a paper towel and record the numbers of orange fish and yellow fish on the chart below. This is generation 1.

PROCEDURE You are a predator that preys upon these fish. Eat or throw away 3 orange fish and 1 yellow fish.

PROCEDURE Each surviving orange fish produces one new orange fish, and each yellow fish produces one new yellow fish. Therefore, obtain the new generation of fish from the future generation cup at your table.

PROCEDURE 5 Record these numbers as the start of generation two. 6 Repeat steps 3 and 4 for four more generations.
