EVOLUTION In biology, Evolution refers to the process through which species change over time. The change results from a change in the genetic material.

Natural Selection = The Strongest Survive Stronger member of a species get to breed and pass on their genetic material. The weak or slow get eaten and can not pass on their weak genetic material.

What is an adaptation? With a partner, come up with a definition of adaptation and two examples of adaptations.

Adaptation a trait that makes a population better suited to its environment provides an advantage to survive and reproduce can be structural or behavioral

Structural Adaptation A physical characteristic in a plant or in an animal’s body that helps it to survive in its environment happens over a long period of time in the form of changing an organism's genetic traits aka physical adaptation
