Parallel Lines Lines are parallel if they are always the same distance apart and will never meet.

What is a transversal ? What is a transversal ? Answer: a line, like the red one below, that intersects two parallel lines. 

What is so special about a transversal? Answer: When a transversal cuts (or intersects) parallel lines several pairs of congruentand supplementary angles are formed.
