Welcome House keeping Agenda - program After todays sessions Evening function

What is ASC Next Gen? The ASC of NSW Next generation are a youthful extension of the Agricultural Societies Council, dedicated to facilitating the engagement of youth in NSW agricultural shows. Our mission is to facilitate the engagement of youth in the show movement through education and collaboration with other likeminded groups, to achieve positive progression of our agricultural shows in NSW. Any member of a local show aged 18 – 35 is eligible to be a member of ASC Next Gen.

Purpose Our purpose is to... Facilitate the engagement of youth in NSW agricultural shows. Provide a support network for youth in agricultural shows. Promote the agricultural industries through agricultural shows. Educate the general public on country shows and agriculture. Increase excellence within, and an understanding of all agricultural industries.

Vision Our vision is... To have youth representation on all show committees across NSW who encourage youth focused events and education. A long term goal of the NG committee is to have ASC/ASCNG facilitated education programmes available to all country shows.

Values Our values are… Inclusive and Connective Professional Interactive Passionate and Enthusiastic Dependable Provide Enjoyment

We offer members and the community… A line of communication between; young people in agriculture and show committees, those striving for excellence in their field and those who have achieved it, and the variety of youth councils and committees that partake in demonstrating and exhibiting at NSW country shows. Scholarships, sponsorships and competitions to members supporting understanding and growth in shows and personal and professional development. A trust worthy, large, active group to contact for information and assistance, including the publication of success stories, individual show information and the broadcasting of events and other groups with an interest in promoting NSW country shows. Social opportunities for young professionals to connect and network in an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere.

2016/2017 - Strategic Direction and goals - Aims for today

Encourage and support our young professionals to become hands-on in their local shows.

Facilitate communication between shows and groups as well as be the main source of information to and from the ASC.

Encourage 'grass-roots' ideas and man power; a state-wide body cannot possible look after the whole state however we can look after YOU who can look after your areas of the state.

Develop corporate governance skills in young people and give executive committee experience.

Work with the RAS Youth Group to encourage greater fusion and cooperation across local, regional and state levels.

Provide the opportunity for personal and professional development as well as an educational platform for our local urban citizens.
