Autobiography in Five Chapters Westport Middle School Advisory Lesson Autobiography in Five Chapters

What is an autobiography? an account of a person's life written by that person Have you ever read someone’s autobiography? What types of things would someone include in his/her autobiography?

Autobiography in five chapters We’re going to read an autobiography that may be quite different from what you expect. As we read, think about what the poet is trying to convey to the reader. See if you can relate to anything the poet is saying. Annotate by asking questions and making connections in the margins.

Graphic Organizer With a partner, complete the graphic organizer.

Discussion Did you like the poem? Why or why not? Are there any parts of the poem that resonated with you? Would you like to share any of your life experiences that you related to the poem?
