Fabricating composite parts can be very labor intensive, especially if only a small number are required where lay-up automation and rate tooling cannot be justified. The pre-cure lay-up and assembly of large parts such as wing skins, fuselages, rotor blades, etc., requires skill and care since a process failure can result in heavy losses in schedule, labor and material cost.
