Ten Helps to Abundant Living Philippians 4:4-13

1. Have a Joyful Approach to Life. V. 4

2. Treat Others Gently. V. 5

We live in a harsh world. Don’t be quick to judge and condemn. Matt. 7:1-5 Abundant living is learning to treat others gently.

3. Feel the Nearness of the Lord. V. 5b Times when we feel so alone. What a Friend We have in Jesus. Heb. 13:5-6

4. Tell God What You Need. V. 6 Isa. 58:9 Luke 11:9-13 Learn to pray in detail.

5. Accept the Peace of God. V. 7 Trust God’s answer. Rom. 8:28 John 14:27 John 16:33

6. Think About Good Things. V. 8 Prov. 23:7 Wholesome thoughts = wholesome lives. Think like Jesus.

7. Imitate Good People. V. 9 1 Cor. 11:1 Be good finders. Abundant living is learning good from anybody.

8. Depend on Others. V. 10 Gal. 6:2 Rom. 15:1 Acts 4:32-35 We need God and each other.

10. Draw on the Power of Christ. V. 13 Abundant living is impossible without the power of Christ. The world may imitate some qualities.

Abundant living is possible only by being “in Christ.” In the Lord. V. 4 The Lord is near. V. 5 Pray to God. V. 6 In Christ Jesus. V. 7 In the Lord. V. 10 Through Him. v. 13
