NIKOLA milutin TESLA

Nikola was born on June 28, 1856, according to the old, that is, on July 10, according to the new calendar, as the fourth child of Milutin, a Serbian Orthodox priest, and Georgine, in Smiljan, in Lika, in the Military Krajina of the Austrian Empire, not far from the border with the Ottoman Empire . He was baptized in the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Peter and Paul in Smiljan.

He died in New York on January 7, 1943 (at Orthodox Bozic) from a heart attack, very poor and forgotten in his 87th year of life. When he died he was cremated (burnt). His ashes are kept in Belgrade's museum.

family Tesla's family had 7 members: Dad Milutin, mother Georgina, Nikola‘s brother Dane, two elder sisters, Angelina and Milka and younger sister Marica.

School He attended the first grade of elementary school in Smiljan. The remaining three grades of the elementary school and a three-year lower and high realistic gymnasium ended in Gospic. When he finished school, he got sick. He was 9 months in bed (not literally). When he recovered he went to electrical engineering studies in 1875. He registered in the Polytechnic School in Graz, in southern Styria (today Austria). Then he was 19 years old. Nikola Tesla, 23 years old

Interesting facts Nikola Tesla spoke: Serbian-Croatian, Czech, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian and Latin. Nikola's brother Dane was killed as a child, when he worked in the village, the horse hit him and he died (Tesla's parents thought that Dane was much smarter and more intelligent than Nikola). In the night when he was born there was a GREAT storm. The nurse who gave birth to his mother said that Tesla would be a child of darkness, and the mother replied that he would not be a child of darkness but a child of light.

- Tesla hated pearls. He loved pigeons very, very much. He had an obsession of number three. The first one came up with a hydrocentral. Nikola Tesla is the author of more than 700 patents, registered in 25 countries, of which 112 in the field of electrical engineering. He never received any Nobel Prize, but he received something much more valuable. An international unit of measure is named after him, a unit of measure for the magnetic flux density or the magnitude of the magnetic field – Tesla (T).

He always wore white gloves among people so thath he wouldn’t get his hands dirty and he didn’t like shaking hands. Many people thought that he was talking in his minds with elians.
