Bibliometric Analysis of Quality of Life Publication Teng Yu Lee1*, Wen-Ta Chiu1,2, Yee-Shuan Lee3 and Yuh-Shan Ho3# 1Institute of Injury Prevention and Control, Taipei Medical University 2Taipei Medical University - Wan-Fang Hospital 3Bibliometric Centre, Taipei Medical University - Wan-Fang Hospital Introduction The increasing numbers of publications on quality of life indicate its increasing importance. The quality of life research related to rehabilitation is being assessed through a bibliometric analysis based on papers extracted from journals in rehabilitation category based on the Science Citation Index (SCI) distributed by the Institute of Scientific Information (ISI). In this study, bibliometric analysis were carried out. Analysis variables included the following: number of authors, source, language, document type, research address, times cited, impact factor and corresponding authors. Methodology The data was based on Science Citation Index (SCI) database. The analysis of publication papers were obtained upon literature search with defined Subject Categories ‘Rehabilitation’ including 48 journals. The ‘quality and life’ was used as the keyword to search for a part of the title or abstract. Results and Discussion Reviews contained the highest citation per publication value (6.23) followed by articles with half of its value All of documents were published in English, 82% were articles 637 papers were published in SCI from 28 countries Annual publication output and CPP Publication and citation of various number of authors Publication output, citation frequency and CPP of various document types Publication output, citation frequency, CPP and RCR of various countries P: Publication, C: Times cited, CPP: Citation per publication, RCR: Relative citation rate Publication and citation of various regions Conclusion United States has dominated the total production and in addition to, all documents were published in English. The yearly production has increased steadily reaching a peak in 2000. The country distribution of authors has indicated life quality research related to rehabilitation was done in economically developed countries. “analysis, D. and Perry, J. (1995), Quality-of-life - its definition and measurement. Research in Developmental Disabilities, 16 (1), 51-74.” was the most cited paper with 71 times cited in the field of life quality research.
