Working Through Membership Issues Conferencing Tips Greet the member/new member. Ask an opening question relevant to the purpose of the meeting, intended to open dialogue rather than accuse of an offense. (ex) Tell me about ______. Once the member has had an opportunity to express her feelings, review the items checked under “purpose of conference.” Use CIMS cheat sheet to cover required information. Record information discussed on report form. All participants must sign the conference notes. (If the member refuses to sign, it should be noted on the form.)

Working Through Membership Issues At the EC Meeting Greet the member/new member. Ask an opening question relevant to the purpose of the meeting, intended to open dialogue rather than accuse of an offense. (ex) Tell me about ______. Once the member has had an opportunity to express her feelings, clarifying questions may be asked. Once all questions have been answered you may excuse the member/new member. Review information presented and discuss. EC members vote by written secret ballot. EC Minutes do not reflect discussion or number vote. Section in minutes is titled Change in Membership Status.
