¡Bienvenidos a español 2! Welcome to Spanish 2!

About Me Me llamo Señorita Clark. I love cookies, the color blue and Harry Potter. I am half-Mexican, half-American. I went to Mexico and LA over the summer:)

About the course Spanish 2 is a high school level course which will go on your high school transcript We will learn intermediate vocabulary and sentence structures in the present and past We will read a novel completely in Spanish.

What you need everyday Notebook Writing utensils iPad Spanish 2 Textbook Your brain

Assessments We will be doing a combination of projects, tests and orals for assessments. You will have a study guide for each assessment and will be given the oral questions beforehand to prepare. Most of the projects will be independent. Be prepared to put in time outside of class to complete these projects and study.

RUIDO On the whiteboard, you will see the word “ruido”- noise. If your class is misbehaving, your class will lose letters. At the end of the class period, your class will receive points for how many letters your class has left. For example, if your class ends the period with “ido” your class will receive 3 points. Points will be added to the previous days total. The period with the most points at the end of the quarter will win a food (ex. pizza) party.

Metas: Goals. Here, you will see the activities we will complete today Objetivos: Objectives. Here you will see the learning targets we will hit today Noticias: News. Here you will see news specific to your class such as test dates. Tarea: Homework. Here you will see any homework assignments Noticias Generales: General News. Here you will see any general news, such as upcoming events.

Yo vi español The corkboard closest to the door is dedicated to the Spanish you see! Anytime you see Spanish on ads, labels, boxes, etc. bring it into class and we’ll pin it up on the board.

¿Baño? If you ever need to go to the bathroom give me a peace sign. I will either nod or shake my head. If I nod, you will sign out and take the pass with you. If I shake my head, you are not allowed to leave at that time. Keep in mind that you should not be going to the bathroom the first and last 15 minutes of class. You need to wear the vest to leave!

Where can I find information? Assignments, assessments, and other important information can be found on the WSCA website. Find the teacher page, find me, (Clark) and subscribe to your class’s page to receive email notifications and reminders about upcoming assignments and assessments. Your learning target sheet will be a great resource for assignments and what will be on the test Feel free to email me whenever with any questions or comments, I check my email frequently.

What if I’m absent? You are in charge of the work you miss. At the beginning of each week, I post a text post on the Western Sierra website describing what we will be doing all week. Look for a post titled with Monday’s date. Please email me with any questions or comments as you work.

Finding Weekly Information

Google Classroom I will use Google classroom to post documents and assignments, and you will use Google classroom to turn in assignments and receive feedback. As soon as you have your RAFOS email, sign up for your class. Information is on the WSCA website.
