FANTASTIC FACTS! DID YOU KNOW? Mercury is the fastest planet in the solar system and is named after a Roman god who is the fastest god. The Atmosphere Mercury has the thinnest atmosphere of all the planets in the solar system. It is made out of oxygen, sodium, hydrogen, helium and potassium. Moons and Satellites Mercury has no moons because it is so close to the sun and only has one lonely satellite for company.

GOD OF MERCURY Mercury is the fastest planet in the whole solar system to orbit the sun and so is the roman god mercury. It takes 88 Earth days to orbit the sun compared to the 365 Earth days on Earth. The god of Mercury is called Mercury. It was named after this roman god.
