PPA Legislative Day April 6th, 2016

Transportation Bus Be outside the Pete by 4:10AM Bus promptly leaves at 4:30! Split by alphabetical order If driving separately: Arrive by 8AM Parking information available on the PPA website

General Schedule 8:00AM- Registration - East Wing Rotunda Pick-up your registration packets Check-in to see if anyone has picked-up the packet for your legislative meetings (leave this behind with the legislator) Grab some free breakfast! 8:00AM- 2:30 PM - Legislative Appointments 8:00AM- 2:30PM - School Screenings/Tabling 1:30 – 2:30 PM – Rally on the capitol steps 2:30 PM – Group Picture in the rotunda

Individualized Schedules Each student will have their own schedule with times for: 2 tabling times – 1 hour total 1 capitol tour or PPA meeting 2 legislator meetings During your free time feel free to grab lunch!

Legislative Appointments - first priority You will be provided with “talking points” Check to see if your legislator is supporting the bill prior to the meeting Take a picture at each legislative appointment to receive credit for IPPE hours - the school and the legislators love these too! If a pharmacist is at your meeting, have them sign your IPPE form Fill out the “report form” following your meeting Email photo to: pittppa@gmail.com

Tabling Topics Get Smart Initiative, Script Your Future, Immunizations Approach these encounters just like we have at our IPPE sites The tabling is set up like a health fair Make sure to sign-in when you arrive to your scheduled block! There will be residents/faculty members at the event all day If signed-up for the first block: responsible for setting up display If signed-up in the last block: responsible for cleaning up supplies Feel free to mingle with the other schools of pharmacy while in the rotunda!

PPA Office Meetings & Capitol Tours Scheduled based on availability around your legislative meetings PPA Office meetings: located across the street from the capitol, again, make sure you sign in! Capitol Tours: report to the tour desk at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time
