Requirement: labor market demand! Use of $200M Strong Workforce Program Increase quantity of CTE Improve quality of CTE Courses, programs, pathways, credentials (licensure), certificates, degrees Requirement: labor market demand! Provide career exploration, job readiness, job placement, work-based learning – leveraging Student Success/Students Equity funds, Local Workforce Investment Board resources, etc. Funds are “on-going” not one-time.

Flow of Funds 5% 60% 40% Statewide Activities Local Shares Goes to districts to invest in CTE at colleges 5% Statewide Activities 40% Regional Shares Invests in CTE at colleges upon coordinated action

Allocation Model for the Funds: Variables and Weighting 2016-17 2017-18+ Unemployment rate 1/3 1/3 Proportion of CTE FTEs 1/3 1/3 Projected job openings 1/3 1/6 Successful workforce outcomes* 0 1/6 * Launchboard has already been updated for WIOA alignment.

Prepare for Joint Regional Planning Questions Are priority and emergent sectors for the region still the same? What more must be done for students to move through the region’s career pathways in selected sectors? How will job placement, internships, and regional industry engagement be coordinated? How can industry inform and co-invest in CTE development? Community Colleges (via their CTE Regional Consortia) then prioritize use of Regional Shares by 1/31/17. Post to web.
