School Books Library We will visit the library every other C day. Each student may check out a book to leave at school or take home with them. Each book must be returned in order to check another book out. Textbooks/Workbook First grade students will occasionally be using workbooks for reading or math. These books may come home once in a while. Students will also receive textbooks that will be returned at the end of the year. These books will not go home

Grading The students will be graded as follows in most academic areas: E-Emerging (Needs a lot of guidance) DV-Developing (Needs some guidance, but gaining independence) P-Proficient (Independent) DS-Distinguished (Independent and can teach others) Math will be graded on a separate rubric Parents are required to attend two parent teacher conferences each year. One will be held in December, and another in March. **If you have not already signed up for your December conference time, do so BEFORE you leave tonight!

FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN! Learning is pleasurable, but DOING is the height of enjoyment. -Novalis Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood. -Fred Rogers
