Exercise 2 – Select Your Top Values Individual reflection: List the top 5 values based on what you heard. (2 minutes) Discuss your top 5 with a partner – Decide together on top 5 values. (8 minutes) Discuss your top 5 with another pair – Decide together on top 5 values. (10 minutes) Each group reports back, to make a cumulative list of values. (5 minutes) Look for groupings and “mergers” of values (10 minutes) Vote on Top 5-6 Values (5 minutes) with your dots.
Exercise 3 – Define Values & Behaviors for Each Value Develop value definitions and list of 4-5 behaviors for each value in small groups (40 minutes) Share back by group with Discussion (20 minutes)
Exercise 3 - Example Value – Integrity Definition – We continuously pursue the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and honesty Behaviors: Follows through on commitments consistently Does the right thing, even when no one is watching Each Behavior should meet these criteria: Does it start with an action verb? Can you observe it? Can you hire for it? Can you measure it? Can you train for it? Does it apply to all partners and staff?
