Ace it!SM Tutoring Teacher Training Module 1: Introduction

Teacher Training Overview Introduction to “Ace it!” Tutoring Student Retention Orientation, Assessment and Placement Small Class Management Math and Reading Instruction Inquiry and Enrollment Parent and Teacher Communications Operations and Administration “Ace it!” Technology System

Objectives Understand the basics of Contract Services Understand what “Ace it!” Tutoring is and how the program can help students improve performance on core skills Explain the customer experience

Contract Services Definition of Contract Services Any type of funding that is not related to Title IA funds used for NCLB services. Other types of Title I funding Discretionary school funding Federal, State and Local grants Private pay from third party providers such as the YMCA or a local church

“Ace it!” Tutoring Provider of “free tutoring” services to students funded by a third party on a contracted service basis.

“Ace it!” Tutoring A new and innovative curriculum focused on building competency in core skills at each grade level including: Reading levels K-8 Math levels 1-8 and Algebra Curriculum is tied to State and District standards to help students learn skills that are on standardized tests.

“Ace it!” Tutoring Tutoring is conducted in small classes of up to 8 students. Classes are held at convenient times in easily accessible locations such as the student’s school or a community location.
