In Step With The Spirit In An Out Of Step World: Changed

Self Control: A Tamed Will An entirely different way of thinking I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. – Galatians 2:20

Self Control: A Tamed Will An entirely different way of thinking Change is brought by God

That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,  and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us – Eph. 3:16-20

Self Control: A Tamed Will An entirely different way of thinking Change is brought by God Requires faith that God’s standard is right Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. – Prov. 3:5-6

Self Control: A Tamed Will An entirely different way of thinking Change is brought by God Requires faith that God’s standard is right Requires trust that God’s directions are right

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,  training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,  waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ – Titus 2:11-13

Faithfulness: Singularity of Promise & Action True faith is displayed in faithfulness Faithfulness: One on whom others can rely

Faithfulness: Singularity of Promise & Action Faithfulness to God Psalm 1 Must be seen in action Faithfulness to worship Faithfulness to work

Faithfulness: Singularity of Promise & Action Faithfulness to Others “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. – Mt. 23:23

Faithfulness: Singularity of Promise & Action Faithfulness to Others Because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints – Philemon 1:5

Faithfulness: Singularity of Promise & Action Faithfulness to Others My brethren can take me at my word

Gentleness: Power Under Control Meekness in attitude; Gentle in action Gentleness seen in our response to God Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger – James 1:19

Gentleness: Power Under Control Meekness in attitude; Gentle in action Gentleness seen in our response to God All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word. – Isaiah 66:2

Gentleness: Power Under Control Meekness in attitude; Gentle in action Gentleness seen in our response to God Gentleness seen in dealings with one another Proceeds from self-control and meek mindset

Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,  when they see your respectful and pure conduct.  Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. – I Peter 3:1-4

Gentleness: Power Under Control Meekness in attitude; Gentle in action Gentleness seen in our response to God Gentleness seen in dealings with one another Proceeds from self-control and meek mindset Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. – Galatians 6:1

Gentleness: Power Under Control Gentleness is Tough! Must overcome pride Requires removal of desire for power Cannot be bitter Means I become a living sacrifice
