Outsiders Novel Project Counts for 20 pts on your test

Subjects For the subject of this project, you will choose from one of the following events : Bob’s death The burning church The rumble Dally’s death For this project, you will also have to choose one of four choices of presentation formats. Each format will be evaluated based on different criteria.

1. Movie Poster Create a movie poster for the book. Your job is to promote the movie by illustrating one main event from the book. Evaluation criteria : The title of the book must be in large print. Drawing(s) on the poster must be neat and clean. The work shows effort to create high quality drawing(s) and has many important details. Five Ws for your chosen event are clearly visible(Who? What/How? Where? When? Why?).

2. Poem or Song Write a poem/song about one main event from the book. Evaluation criteria : Length of poem/song must be at least 5 stanzas(paragraphs) with 4-6 lines each(20 lines minimum). Five Ws (Who? What/How? Where? When? Why?) for your chosen event are clearly expressed. Must have a title for the poem/song that relates to the chosen event. Overall creativity/ originality/ vocabulary/ fluidity/ ideas/ details will be evaluated.

3. Comic Strip Create a comic strip about one main event from the book. Evaluation criteria : Must have a title related to the chosen event. Must have at least 8 squares. Must have text and/or dialogue between the characters. Drawings must be neat and clean. The work shows effort to create high quality drawing(s) and has many important details. Five Ws for your chosen event are clearly visible(Who? What/How? Where? When? Why?).

4. Newspaper Article Write a newspaper article about one main event from the book. Evaluation criteria: Must have a creative headline related to the chosen event. Must respects the format and style of a newspaper article : 3rd person P.O.V. Facts without opinions Last names of characters used, etc. Must have at least 100 words(identified). Five Ws for your chosen event are clearly expressed (Who? What/How? Where? When? Why?). If you wish, you can even include pictures/drawing to make the written presentation more attractive.
