Welcome to Ms. Smith’s Class

About Ms. Smith I was born and raised in Alpharetta. I attended Georgia State University for Early Childhood Education with an ESOL endorsement, and I am TAG certified. I live in Sandy Springs, right by the Chattahoochee river with my miniature schnauzer, Henry.  I enjoy cooking, kayaking, and hiking. This is my 6th year at New Prospect, and my 3rd year teaching 5th grade.

This Year in Science

This Year in Science There is NO online textbook this year for science. 

This Year in Social Studies There IS an online social studies book though. 

This Year in Social Studies

This Year in Social Studies

Don’t Forget Health! We will fit health lessons in whenever we can. Our health units are as follows: - Safety - Personal Health and Wellness - Mental and Emotional Health - Healthy Eating - Alcohol and Other Drugs - Tobacco - Violence Prevention - Human Growth and Development (*Our Human Growth and Development unit will be taught the week before Winter Break, and permission slips will come home beforehand. )

What to expect… Very fast paced curriculum in order to fit everything in. A quiz or test almost every week. Tiered learning stations for students to develop their understanding of the units within the classroom. Homework of either studying or completing lesson notes, which go with the textbook readings.
